Louis Allen Worldwide Becomes the First Organization Licensed by The Conference Board to Deliver Global Employee Engagement Survey
New Tool to Help Global Companies Recover from Downsizing and Emerge Stronger
Louis Allen Worldwide, a global leader in organizational effectiveness, is teaming with The Conference Board, the global business membership and research association, to be the first to offer the Global Employee Engagement Survey, which provides a dramatic improvement in the ability of global companies to understand how to weather the current economic storm and emerge stronger once the economy improves.
The Conference Board, which also produces the Consumer Confidence Index, worked extensively with Louis Allen Worldwide to enable them to be the first consulting firm licensed to provide its Global Employee Engagement Survey, and feels confident that they are the right company to make this important step in helping to expand research on employee engagement.
Keeping employees engaged through rounds of corporate layoffs can present challenges to the remaining employees who are left with tremendous changes in their work environment and to companies which struggle to rebuild employee morale and productivity. Employees often experience emotional stress waiting for the next shoe to drop and can perceive a lack of direction from their corporate leaders and direct managers.
“The results from the Global Employee Engagement Survey provide corporate managers with the human capital metrics to gauge various workforce issues, such as employee engagement and retention,” said J.P. Miller, chief executive officer of Louis Allen Worldwide. “These metrics can be an invaluable tool to increase dialogue between management and the overall team, and to ensure energies are focused on the most important activities to survive the current economic climate. By taking actions now to improve employee engagement, companies can significantly improve their current workforce productivity and be even stronger when the economy recovers.”
Unique from other employee engagement studies, the Global Employee Engagement Survey of The Conference Board was developed to avoid cultural bias, enabling it to be administered and applied in countries around the world. “Test driven” by 13 global Fortune 500 companies from 11 countries to ensure a globally-valid survey, the Global Employee Engagement Survey overcomes cultural differences, and provides reliable and valid insights across all the countries studied. Louis Allen Worldwide’s global survey capabilities and consulting expertise in Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia allows The Conference Board to expand its reach for its proprietary survey instrument to corporations on a worldwide basis.
“Global corporate managers need to consider all factors and adjust the intensity depending on the cultural norms in their country,” said John Gibbons, senior researcher and practice leader for Employee Engagement at The Conference Board. “What sets this Global Employee Engagement Survey apart from previous surveys is its simplified system to identify the different catalysts of engagement and a unified measurement based on questions which were not only tested globally but developed globally, a first in the study of employee engagement.”
The Global Employee Engagement Survey is built upon an eight-item Employee Engagement Index and in addition includes 46 items that measure five categories of engagement drivers that give management insight into what specific issues are most important to engagement in their organization. The five engagement drivers measure organizational health, workforce readiness, job design, managerial excellence and compensation rewards.
