"Enabling others to develop their strengths and capabilities, grow as individuals and teams, and excel as leaders in their organizations." Is how Joseph “Joey” Casas defines the origins of his true calling, of which he found out when he signed up with the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines immediately after college and was sent to San Isidro High School in the hinterlands of Pangantucan, Bukidnon.
The purpose driven leader, who has spent 20 years of his career as a training and organization development practitioner, served as head of Human Resources (HR) for Puno Law, a full-service law firm with a prominent position in the energy and power sectors. He also worked for telecommunications giant Globe Telecom, investing 7 years in critical HR positions--among them, as head of Change Management and Organization Development; and finally, as HR Business Partner, representing the HR Group as 'Single Point of Contact' for his client system then—the 1,500-strong Network Technical Team. Before Globe, he assumed the role of Assistant Vice President of HR for insurance company Aetna Philippines--managing Recruitment, Training and Education, Employee Relations, and Compensation and Benefits. Besides these experiences, Joey honed his skills and expertise in behavioral training, organization effectiveness, and leadership development beginning with his stint at the Training Institute for Managerial Excellence (TIME), Inc. and throughout his career, working extensively with industry-leading service organizations.
